Import WSDL data diagram

Dear,

First of all, thank you very much for this very useful contribution!!

Is it correct that a WSDL import does not create a data contract diagram?

Thanks!

You are correct.

Import WSDL will extract the schema types from your WSDL, create the files and add the references to the "Schemas" folder in your solution. The will use XsdMessage elements to reference these types located in the schema files.

Dear Hernan,

  Thanks for the feedback.

I assume there is no "easy" way to import XsdMessage elements into a data contract diagram?

Thanks!

You actually don't need to import XsdMessage elements because the live only in the service contract model. These elements contains references to your schema types that already define your DC model types therefore there's no need to create a DC model in WSSF. Notice that this approach is aligned with the "Contract First" strategy in terms of defining the schema type upfront.
